What is detox (detoxification) and why should you do it?  Detoxification, as discussed in this handout, refers to the processes by which our bodies recognize, neutralize, and remove substances that are unhealthy to us. Physical things such as toxins (poisons) from our surroundings or by products of the chemical processes that keep us alive are examples. It also involves unhealthy emotions or actions. Alcohol and other narcotic withdrawal treatments are significant medical disorders that need constant management and are not covered in this article.

We live in a dirty and stressed environment. Contaminants may cause a person’s body to become overwhelmed and stressed. This pollution may lead to health issues. Toxin come in a variety of forms.

Detox Pdf Expectations and Precautions

Eliminate flesh foods/meat (e.g., fish, beef, hog, lamb, chicken, etc.), refined sugars (white/brown sugar, particularly high-fructose corn syrup), and artificial sweeteners such as saccharine, aspartame, and Splenda during the whole week of detoxification (limited use of natural sweeteners such as honey, maple syrup, and molasses are okay to use in small amounts).

Also, Avoid consuming alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, cigarettes, chocolate, or recreational drugs for the whole week. It is During the detox week, it is also suggested to avoid diary, wheat, and eggs (instead, try soy/almond/rice milk, soy yogurt, soy cheese, and stanol/sterol spreads).

Your cooking techniques will be guided by the recipes you utilize, such as boiling vegetables into soups, steaming, sautéing, and so on.

Detox Pdf | Day 1 and 2 Detoxification

Fresh/frozen/dried vegetables, fruit, and mushrooms (maitake, shiitake, oyster, and/or enoki, for example) are recommended foods for Days 1 and 2. Healthy grains (brown/wild rice, quinoa, buckwheat, oatmeal, millet, seeds, nuts, legumes, and flax seed) are also recommended for days 1 and 2 if you are following Version #1.   • As guided by your recipes, add spices and healthy ingredients.
  • Every day, drink 8-10 cups of filtered water, as well as a vitalizing drink, detox soup, smoothies, and diluted juicing.
  • Teas such as peppermint, decaf green, chamomile, licorice, ginger, rooibos, and digestive tea should be consumed throughout the day.
  • Snack on a variety of nuts, dried and fresh fruit, vegetables, and detox-broth.

Detox Pdf | Day 4 Detoxification

  • For the today being, discontinue all supplements. (With one exception.) Use the three items indicated below if you undertake the bowel cleaning outlined below).
  • Replace lost fluids during toileting with lots of liquids (tea with honey, vitalizing drink, mixed fruit/vegetable beverage, and detox-broth).
  • Journaling, self-reflection, or meditation are all good ways to relax.

Optional bowel cleansing protocol:

  • Only on this fasting day, take 500-1000 mg of Bentonite Clay or Activated Charcoal capsules by mouth three times each day with water (It binds toxins in the gut.)
  • For bowel elimination, drink 300 mL of Magnesium Citrate (one bottle) in the morning.
  • For bowel disposal, use 1-2 saline Fleet Enemas in the afternoon or evening.

Day 5 is the same as Day 3 but for the Energy-Work)

Reintroduce fruits and vegetables on day 5. You may eat them in whatever amount or combination you like. Prepare them according to healthy recipes. Fresh, frozen, or dry vegetables and fruit are also recommended (but no mushrooms, grains, seeds, beans, legumes, or nuts).

Other recommendations, similar to those made on days 1-3, include:

  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Seasonings and spices
  • Filtered water, tea, vitalizing beverage, detox broth, smoothies, and diluted juice are all good options.
  • Reintroduce the optional herbs and supplements at the recommended doses.
  • Heat treatment in a sauna or steam room
  • Light physical activity
  • Journaling and self-reflection, as well as meditation

An Energy-Work treatment, such as Acupuncture or Reiki, is a new suggestion to add on Day 5 to assist balance your system.

Recipe

Energizing beverage

This is a fantastic supplement for Day 4 fasting.

  • 1-2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Enjoy throughout the detox pdf, particularly on day 4 while you’re fasting. It is also recommended to drink diluted fruit juice of any variety (1⁄2 actual juice and 1⁄2 water).

Herbs and Supplements to Consider for Detox Week

  • Whey Protein Hydrolyzed Powder 10 g of powder, blended with smoothies, two times per day (See recipe on the previous page.) Whey protein helps the liver to make more glutathione, a natural chemical that helps in the removal of toxins.

 

  • Pectasol powder (Modified Citrus Pectin-MCP, NOT pectin fiber) 10 g of powder, blended with smoothies, two times per day (See recipe on previous page.). MCP is absorbed in the gut. Heavy metals in the body are bound by it. The kidneys and liver then eliminate them from the body. In general, the internet is the best location to look for MCP.

 

  • Milk Thistle crude extract capsules of 500-1000 mg, taken three times a day with meals. This is a safe herb that is used to support the liver.

 

  • Dandelion Root capsules of 500-1000 mg should be taken three times per day with meals. This is a safe herb that is used to support the kidneys and gallbladder.

 

  • To support overall health, take one multivitamin tablet daily with a meal.

 

  • Turmeric capsules of 500-1000 mg should be taken three times per day with meals. This is a safe herb that is used to relieve inflammation and support the gut.

 

  • Probiotics (any variety), one capsule twice daily. This is a safe supplement that is used to supplement the gut with healthy bacteria.

Optional Herbs and Supplements (not included)

  • Fish oil omega-3 essential fatty acids 1000 mg EPA and DHA total daily in liquid or pill form Two tablespoons (T) of ground flax seed or flax oil used with smoothies is a vegetarian choice. This supplement is intended to help the body minimize inflammation.

 

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin, cold pressed, organic olive oil in smoothies twice day (and used in any amount in food for cooking). This healthy oil has a rich concentration of omega 3, 6, and 9 necessary fatty acids. It helps the body in working to function properly.

 

  • ONLY ON THE DAY OF FASTING: 500-1000 mg of activated charcoal or bentonite clay capsules three times each day to bind gut toxins. Take only if you are fasting. Take one hour before or after eating or drinking anything else.
